In February 2023, we bid goodbye to a good man - a gentleman, story teller, beekeeper, poet, singer and friend, Barry Martin.
We have occupied our store at 14 Malbon Street since 2019 but restoration was underway for several years before that. Barry has been a welcome visitor and mentor during those years. Always ready to help and offer advice. And as a long time resident of Bungendore, he had an intimate knowledge of the history of the people who lived here in years past, when it was only a small rural village.
Barry is married to the beautiful Margaret Martin nee Allen, whose family were the long time occupants of our store when it served as a home.
We will miss Barry, his stories and his advice and his friendship.
