Eclipse

Inspired by 20 years of marriage, Eclipse uses interlocking rings to symbolise unity and harmony. The composition of strong, black–coated stainless steel, gilding, and mirror–polished stainless steel in two angled rings achieves a teetering yet grounded sense of balance.

Echoing DH Lawrence’s poem ‘Fidelity’, read at Sophie and David’s wedding, the sculpture captures the notion of working harmoniously yet honouring each other’s differences.

Taking inspiration from the phases of the moon and the shadows of an eclipse, the Eclipse's interlocking rings support each other and work in harmony from any angle. The inner ring is lined with 24-carat gold leaf, bringing it into spectacular contrast with the painted black finish. Integrated LED lights in the base are positioned to capture the finish of the smaller ring and create a thin slither of light, mimicking the eclipse.

Finish: 
The Eclipse comprises two 316 marine grade stainless steel rings, one smaller and angled within the outer. The classic design is predominantly painted deep gloss black with the inside of the smaller ring gilded with 23¾ carat gold leaf.

Dimensions:
The larger outer ring on the classic design is 180cm in diameter, however other sizes are available on request.
